Width Guide

At Bared, we don't design to standard width gradings ('AA' to 'D'). Fit depends on the width and depth of the shoe compared to your foot width, heel width, big toe joint, instep height and toe height - so measuring is never exact, and it's usually best to just try a style and see how it feels. Fit also varies person to person: a style that works for one narrow or wide foot may not suit another.

Narrow feet

Narrow can mean either a narrow foot width or simply not much volume through the foot - worth knowing, since it affects which fix helps.

• Closed styles (boots, sneakers, loafers, dress shoes, and some lace-up, buckle-up and ballet flats): come with our Fit Kit, which lets you adjust the fit with different insoles and footbed additions to create a snugger fit.
• Ballet flats: a number of our styles have adjustable strap configurations, giving you flexibility to customise the fit. Some are also Fit Kit compatible for further adjustment.
• Sandals: adjustable-strap styles offer the most flexibility for narrow feet, but plenty of our non-adjustable sandals work well too - tell our Customer Service team what you like the look of and they'll guide you.

Wide feet

• Boots: all of our boots come with the Fit Kit.
• Sneakers and other closed styles: many are designed to accommodate wide feet, and most come with the Fit Kit.
• Fit Kit fix: if a style feels snug, swap the standard footbed for the thin footbed - this creates roughly half a size more room.
• Sandals: we recommend adjustable-strap styles for the best fit, though some non-adjustable sandals also work well.
• Heels and sandals generally: the footbed is designed to sit under the curve of your foot rather than fully enclosing it (due to the angle your foot takes in a heeled shoe), so a little overhang is normal and won't affect comfort or function. If you'd feel more secure with extra coverage, ask us to recommend styles with thicker straps.
