Yes — absolutely. One of the best features of Bared shoes is our use of high-quality, natural leathers. While the leather may feel firm at first, it’s designed to soften and mould to your foot with wear, with patent leather* being the exception.
Whilst leather will soften and mould to your foot with wear, this will not happen in the toe box. Keeping this in mind, it's important to remember to have ample space in the toe box for your toes!
Here’s how to help the leather soften:
- Wear the shoes in short intervals around the house before full-day use.
- Use thick socks to stretch and condition the leather gently.
- Massage stiff areas with your hands to break in the grain.
- Apply a small amount of leather conditioner to dry or firm areas (especially around the heel).
In just a few wears, most customers notice a big difference in comfort.
*Patent leather is fine grain leather that is treated to give it a glossy appearance. Characterised by a glass-like finish that catches the light. Due to the glossy finish, the leather stays true to its original shape and feel.
